It's no secret the general health consensus is vaping is so much better than smoking and rightly so, But only if...

If you're a smoker,

switching to or using a vape as a preferred method to quit, a sometimes modern preference to using  traditional Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT), is absolutely one of the best things a smoker can do. 

The risks associated with vaping are substantially reduced and estimated to be 90% safer compared to those of smoking. Vaping can be used, very successfully, as an alternative or in combination with

traditional NRT to  aid a quit attempt. 

We at Ashtag applaud anyone who chooses this method to quit cigarettes or break their addiction to nicotine.  

However, the teen vape crisis is real and nicotine is a highly addictive substance. If cigarettes produce 4000 nasty toxins and chemicals, 60 of which are carcinogenic (Cancer causing),  based on this, if a vape is considered 90% safer, it must stand therefore that 400 nasty toxins and chemicals with 6 carcinogens will be in a eCig / Vape. 

This is where our classroom educational service comes into its own for both students who smoke or vape, as well as those students who have never smoked or vaped. 

It is important to note an exponential uptake in vaping is now being seen in children aged 11-17 and in children unlikely to ever smoke. 

Education is key to reach these children before  age 11, ( education year 5-6), as well as ages 11-17, (education years 7 to-6th form, or college equivalent)

We are hoping for stronger legislation leading to more regulation, calling for a complete ban on disposables or disposables which are flavoured to appeal to children and stronger action taken against those who sell to children. 

Through facilitated discussion we reveal the truth about vaping: 

Disposable vapes, 

illicit sales, 

equipment adaptations, 

aggressive marketing techniques and the dangers of illegal inferior equipment flooding the marketplace, making vaping accessible and affordable to this underage targeted audience.

At Ashtag we are passionate about educational services for secondary schools and colleges. 

We provide an interactive classroom presentation and Q&A for students age 11 to 18, enabling them to make informed decisions in their future. 

Our sessions cover smoking, vaping, vapourising, cannabis and shisha. 

We focus on vaping as this is strongly age related, with 10% of 11-15 year olds having tried vaping, compared to 29% of 16 and 17 year olds *. We raise awareness and encourage discussions around vaping and the illicit related products which are currently flooding the market. 

This is Ashtag education, addressing the teen vape crisis and the health harms of smoking.

We do this on a day delegate rate, instead of charging per classroom presentation, we find this is the best way to keep your costs down per capita. Placing Ashtag in a school for a day will make a huge difference to student lives for the rest of their lives,  by allowing informed decision making, not ignorant ones.

'Meet the Stinkers' is our interactive primary school health education programme. 

Specifically created to target 9 to 11 year olds now, to achieve a proven lower uptake in the future. 

It is one of the most effective educational platforms in the South East. 

Since launch it has smashed the Department of Health directive to reduce the uptake of smoking in 15 year olds from 12% in 2015 to 8% by 2020. Those who saw the performance, reduced their uptake at age 15 to 3.8%.
